Mina spent the two seasons with Deportivo Cali in Colombia’s first division. He joined the club in 2022 and has made 26 appearances, tallied two assists, and totaled 1,541 minutes played over his time. The defender made his professional debut on May 7, 2022, against Independiente Sante Fe, where he tallied his first professional assist.
INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
The Guachené, Colombia native has represented Colombia at various youth levels, including the U-16’s and U-20’s. He has made 10 appearances with the U-16 and made his debut on November 23, 2019. Mina was called up for the 2023 U-20 South American Championship, he made his debut for the U-20’s on May 31, 2022 against Comoros U-20’s.
ACQUIRED: The New York Red Bulls have completed the transfer of Juan José Mina from Deportivo Cali pending the receipt of his P-1 visa and ITC on July 31, 2023. Mina has signed a three-and-a-half-year MLS contract through 2026 with an option for 2027.
