This will be the 52nd overall meeting between the two clubs, with the series currently tied with both teams having a 21-21-9 mark. The Red Bulls defeated Orlando City SC, 1-0, to win their first-ever Eastern Conference Final and have reached MLS Cup for the second time in franchise history and the first time since 2008.
This will be the first meeting between New York and Los Angeles since 2021.
The Red Bulls have won three road matches to get to the Audi 2024 MLS Cup and became the lowest seed to ever reach MLS Cup in league history. Head Coach Sandro Schwarz became the fifth head coach since 2004 to lead their club to MLS Cup in their first season in the league.
Goalkeeper Carlos Coronel registered his third clean sheet of the postseason in the Eastern Conference Final and is now tied with Luis Robles for most shutouts during a single postseason in franchise history with three. Coronel has registered 19 saves during the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs, which ranks tied for second by postseason goalkeepers.

Defender Andres Reyes scored the game-winning goal in the Eastern Conference Final and became the third defender in franchise history to score a goal in the postseason alongside Tolkin in 2023 and Tim Parker in 2018.
