HARRISON, N.J. (August 12, 2025) – With the 2025-26 MLS NEXT season around the corner, the Red Bulls Academy U-16s are set to participate in the 2025 Next Generation Trophy Tournament in Salzburg, Austria at Red Bull Salzburg’s Akademie.
U-16s will begin tournament play with two matches on August 14. They’ll kick things off against Malian side Yeelen Olympique at 6:05 a.m. ET. After, the team will play Belgian side Club Brugge at 11:25 a.m. ET.
Playoffs for the competition will take place on August 15 and August 16.
“The Next Generation Tournament in Salzburg is something that the players and staff look forward to each year. The opportunity to benchmark our young players against some of the best Academies around the world is critical in accelerating development.” says Academy Director Sean McCafferty, “Additionally we are able to expose our players and staff to different cultures from various continents as we attempt to take a more holistic approach to development.”
