HARRISON, N.J (March 27, 2025) – New York Red Bulls Academy U-16 and U-18 teams are set to play in the 2025 Generation adidas Cup at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida from April 12-20.
The competition will contain forty teams organized into 10 groups of four that compete at the U-16 and U-18 age groups. Sixteen teams will advance to the single-elimination championship, comprising of 10 group winners and the top six second-place finishers.
All matches will be 60-minutes long, with two 30-minute halves. The championship matches for both age groups will be extended to 70-minutes long.
All contests that are even after regulation will go straight to a penalty-kick shootout.
At the conclusion of the tournament, awards will be presented in both age groups recognizing the Most Valuable Player presented by adidas, Generation adidas Cup Best Goalkeeper presented by Allstate, Top Scorer, and Best XI presented by adidas.
The U-16’s were drawn into Group H and will face FC Dallas, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, and Nashville SC.
The U-18’s are in Group C and will play against fellow MLS academies Minnesota United FC, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC, as well as English Premier League academy Leicester City FC.
