New York Red Bulls midfielder Tyler Adams, in addition to Academy players Chris Gloster and Peter Stroud, have been called up to their respective U.S. Youth International teams.
Adams represented the U.S. Under-19 Men’s National Team, Stroud the U-15 Boys’ National Team and Gloster will remain with the U-17 Men’s National Team until Dec. 4.
Adams, the Red Bulls’ 17-year-old Homegrown Player, joined the U.S. U-19s in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. in a joint training camp with the U.S. U-18s from Nov. 5-14. The teams played an intra-squad match on Nov. 9 and Adams started and played the full 90 minutes for the U-19 squad on Nov. 13 in a friendly against North American Soccer League (NASL) side, Miami FC. Adams scored in the 22nd minute en route to a 5-0 victory.
Gloster, who was been named to the U.S. U-17s, joins a 20-player roster that will compete at the 13th annual Nike International Friendlies in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. from Nov. 30-Dec. 4. The defender started and played the full 90 minutes in a 7-1 victory against Portugal to open the tournament on Nov. 30. The Montclair, N.J. native is a member of the U.S. U-17 Residency program in Bradenton, Fla. and played one game this season for Red Bulls II, starting and playing 87 minutes.
Former Red Bulls player and current U.S. U-15 head coach Dave van den Bergh called up Stroud amongst 36 players to take part in the team’s second and final domestic training camp of the year. The camp took place from Nov. 5-12 in Bradenton, Fla. The midfielder started and played the full 80 minutes in a 7-0 victory over Weston FC 2000’s. Stroud, who hails from Chester, N.J. has started and played nine games for the Red Bulls U-14s this season, totaling two goals.
