Get to know who the Red Bulls will be playing in their upcoming matchup.

How they’re doing

The Eastern Conference leaders started the season about as well as they could and haven’t looked back since.

They have a firm lead in the conference and are rapidly closing in on LAFC for the Supporter’s Shield.

They have been phenomenal in all phases this season, currently leading MLS in both goals scored (61) and goals allowed (21).

Philadelphia has made their home a fortress this season with a 10-0-4 record. They have won their last four home matches by a combined score of 24-2.

On the road, though, they have been somewhat more susceptible to poor results, losing two of their last three away from home.

Head-to-Head History

This will be the 40th matchup between the two Eastern Conference foes, with New York owning a slight 16-15-8 series lead.

Philadelphia are unbeaten, though, in eight straight matches against New York, including last year’s playoffs. That is the longest unbeaten run by either team in the history of the series.

Who to Watch: Forwards Julián Carranza and Dániel Gazdag

Philadelphia’s offense has been incredibly strong this season, and especially recently.

Two of the catalysts for their goal-scoring success have been forwards Julián Carranza and Dániel Gazdag. In their last five matches, the two have combined for 12 goals and six assists.

The season did not get off to a great start for the two forwards, with only four combined goals in their first eight appearances.

In total, the two have combined for 31 goals. They are both currently in the top eight for the MLS Golden Boot award.

This is Gazdag’s second season in Philadelphia. Last season, he only contributed four goals and five assists in 23 appearances. This season, he has 17 goals and eight assists in 29 appearances.

Carranza arrived from Inter Miami this season, where he only contributed three total goals in 41 appearances across two seasons. This year, he has 14.

In their current blistering form, the two-headed monster at the top of Philadelphia’s attack will be tough to keep quiet on Saturday.
