Jake LaCava (Tampa Bay Rowdies)

LaCava made his return to MSU Soccer Park on April 23. This time, however, it was not in a Red Bulls II jersey, which he has worn for the past two seasons.

As a loaned-in player for the Tampa Bay Rowdies, LaCava started against Red Bulls II, and played all 90 minutes, as Tampa Bay clawed their way back to secure a 1-1 draw.

he was not on the score sheet in that match, but has been an impact player for the Rowdies so far in the 2022 season.

LaCava also featured for 70 minutes in Tampa Bay’s U.S. Open Cup third round match against Orlando City.

It ended up being a 2-1 defeat for the Rowdies, but a hard-fought one against a higher level opponent.

In ten total appearances, LaCava has accounted for four goals and an assist in 615 minutes.

That goal tally is tied for the most on the team that is currently fourth in the USL Championship table with a 3-4-1.

David Jensen (KVC Westerlo)

The loaned-out Red Bulls goalkeeper has added some silverware, as he helped lead KVC Westerlo to a 1B Pro League championship.

Jensen was a mainstay between the posts for Westerlo, featuring in 26 of 28 matches. 10 of those appearances resulted in clean sheets.

In the whole of the 21/22 season, Jensen allowed an average of one goal per match. His efforts helped Westerlo to a league-best 27 goals conceded in 27 matches.

This is not the first time Jensen has helped his team lift a trophy in his career. He made three total appearances in goal for danish club FC Nordsjaelland in their 2011/12 championship season.

All three of those appearances resulted in clean sheets.

Omar Sowe (Breidablik Kópavogur)

After not appearing on the team sheet in any of Breidablik’s pre-season matches, Sowe made his first appearance for the Icelandic club in their league opener.

Sowe came off the bench in the second half and played 26 minutes in a 4-1 win over Keflavik.

He remained on the bench for all 90 minutes in the second league match of the season, which ended in a 1-0 win over KR Reykjavik.

After finishing one point short of the league title in 2021, Breidablik are the current table leaders with two wins and a +4 goal difference through two matches.

Sowe’s next chance for an appearance will come on May 1 against Hafnarfjördur.
