New York Red Bulls Academy defender Chris Gloster has been named to the 26-player roster for the U-17 Men’s National Team’s latest international camp set to take place from Feb. 24 to March 3, in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. During the camp, the U-17 MNT will play multiple friendlies against the U-17 Honduras team on Feb. 27 and March 2.
This will be the U-17 MNT’s first international camp in 2017 and the first set of international matches since December’s Nike International Friendlies, where the U.S. swept U-17 sides from Brazil, Portugal and Turkey to win the tournament for the first time since 2013.
Chris Gloster, a native of Montclair, N.J., is a member of the U.S. U-17 Residency program in Bradenton, Fla. The defender played with the U.S. U-15 Boys National Team in 2015.
In the fall portion of the 2015-16 USSDA season, Gloster started all 11 games for the Red Bulls U-16s before joining the 2016 Spring Residency program. Gloster has been a mainstay for the U.S. U-17 team.
He also played one game last season for Red Bulls II, starting and playing 87 minutes.
