Red Bulls Academy and U-23 Players Named to Top 10 PDL Players in College

New York Red Bulls U-23 players Arun Basuljevic (Georgetown) and Eric Klenofsky (Monmouth), as well as Red Bulls academy product Adam Najem (Akron), have been named to Top 10 PDL Players in College at their positions.


Najem was listed as the No. 1 Midfielder in college, Basuljevic No. 5, and Eric Klenofsky the No. 6 Goalkeeper.



Red Bulls U-23 midfielder Christopher Lema (Georgetown) was listed on the honorable mentions list.


A senior at Akron, Red Bulls Academy product Najem has totaled five goals and five assists, starting in every game he’s featured in. To date, he’s recorded 33 goals and 29 assists in his four-year career with the Zips. His brother, David Najem, plays for the 2016 USL Champions, New York Red Bulls II.



Goalkeeper Eric Klenofsky, a senior at Monmouth University, played one game with the Red Bulls U-23s in 2016. At Monmouth, he’s been named the 2015 MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year, 2015 All-MAAC First Team, and was the NCAA Division I Statistical Leader in Goals Allowed Average in 2014 and 2013. The 6-foot-6 goalkeeper also received a call-up to the Antigua and Barbuda National Team this year.


Former Red Bulls Academy player Basuljevic led Red Bulls U-23 in goals and assists in 2016, scoring eight times and providing five helpers. The junior at Georgetown was named to the ALL-BIG EAST Second Team this year after playing in 17 games and totaling two goals and as many assists.


Lema, a Red Bulls Academy graduate, played 11 games for the U-23’s, totaling two goals and one assist. A junior at Georgetown, the midfielder was named to the ALL-BIG EAST First Team after a stellar season, in which he started 17 games and led the team with five assists.
