On Day Three of the Generation adidas Cup, Red Bulls Academy is set to take on current group D leaders Club Tijuana (Mexico) at 3:30 p.m. ET today in Dallas.
After dropping their opening match of the tournament, 3-1 to Estudiantes de la Plata (Argentina) on Friday, New York responded with a 4-1 victory against Toronto FC Academy on Sunday. Academy product Ben Mines, who has appeared for NYRB II already this season, had the brace in the matchup.
Tuesday will be the final matchday of the group stage. Only one team from each group advances to the semifinals.
New York needs a win combined with an Estudiantes de la Plata draw/loss to Toronto FC Academy to move on in the tournament.
