Red Bull New York midfielder Adri Mehmeti has been named to MLS Team of Matchday 32.
The Red Bulls earned a huge 2-0 victory over Inter Miami CF at Sports Illustrated Stadium on October 24 with Mehmeti playing a huge role in the midfielder completing a team-high 53 passes in the match.
The 17-year-old helped orchestrate New York’s opening goal of the match combining with fellow midfielder Ronald Donkor and playing a forward pass to midfielder Mohammed Sofo who found winger Cade Cowell who played a ball across the six-yard box that was deflected in the back of the net by a Miami defender.
Earlier this month, the Staten Island, N.Y. native was ranked no. 3 in MLS 22 Under 22 List.
This was Mehmeti’s third time being named to an MLS Team of the Matchday this season, previously doing so on Matchday 1 after providing his first career MLS assist in a 3-1 win over Orlando City SC on February 24 and on Matchday 7 after he scored his first career MLS goal in a 2-2 draw against Miami on April 11.
