HARRISON, N.J. (September 22, 2026) – Red Bull New York defender Matthew Dos Santos and winger Dennis Nelich have been called up to U-19 USYNT camp in Marbella, Spain from September 24 to October 6 U.S. Soccer announced today.
Dos Santos, 18, is in his first season with New York and has made 24 appearances. He made his MLS debut in the Red Bulls 2-1 victory over Orlando City SC on February 21. The defender registered his first career assist and became the youngest defender in club history to record an assist at 17 years and 268 days old in New York’s 1-0 win against New England Revolution on February 28.
The Sandy Hook, C.T. native spent two seasons with RBNY II in 2024 and 2025 where he made 30 appearances across all competitions and scored three goals while providing five assists. The defender was a part of the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Cup winning side.
This will be Dos Santos’ second career USYNT call up. He was previously called into the U-17 USYNT in June 2025 where he made his debut in an international friendly match against Sweden on June 5, 2025. The defender also appeared in friendly matches against Canada and Japan during that window.
Nelich, 18 is in his second season with Red Bull New York II and is coming off two consecutive short-term agreements with Red Bull New York. He made his MLS debut and first career start against LAFC on September 9. The winger was also a 90th minute sub in New Yorks 1-0 victory over Columbus Crew on September 12. The winger signed a one-and-a-half- year MLS contract as a homegrown through the 2027-28 season with options for the 2028-29, 2029-30, and 2030-31 seasons on September 18.
This season, the 18-year-old has scored seven goals and added six assists in 23 matches in MLS NEXT Pro play. His seven goals scored are the second-most on RBNY II this year. Nelich became the second-youngest player in club history to record a hat-trick at 18 years and 117 days old in RBNY II’s 5-0 victory over Union II on June 28. The performance earned the winger MLS NEXT Pro Player of the Matchweek 17. The winger also featured in the club’s penalty kick shootout win against Colorado Rapids 2 in the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Cup Final, subbing into the match in the 113th minute.
The Brighton Beach, N.Y. native was named MLS NEXT Pro Rising Star of Matchweek 9 after scoring the match winning goal in New York’s 2-1 victory over Philadelphia Union II on May 3
Dos Santos and Nelich will join the U-19 USYNT in Marbella, Spain on September 24 and play three friendly matches at the Banús Football Center and Marbella Football Center.  First, they’ll face Wales on September 24 followed by a match against England on October 2. The squad will conclude camp with a friendly against Norway on October 5.
