  • Real Salt Lake (1-1-1) converted on an early penalty kick to down the New York Red Bulls (1-1-0), 1-0, on Saturday night at Rio Tinto Stadium. RSL delivers New York their first loss of the 2018 season across all competitions.
  • With the break in Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League action, the Red Bulls will have a week between games for the first time in a while. New York has played five games in 17 days dating back to the second leg of the SCCL Round of 16 series against Olimpia on March 1.
  • Real Salt Lake was awarded a penalty-kick opportunity just three minutes into the match and Albert Rusnak converted for the eventual game winner.

  • New York’s five-match unbeaten streak across all competitions was snapped and was held scoreless for the first time this season after multiple goals in the last four games.
  • New York is 14-15-9 all-time in the month of March. New York has scored 49 goals in March and allowed 52.

  • Bradley Wright-Phillips was held without a point as he came on as a sub and his five-match point streak was snapped.
  • New York returns home for its next match, hosting Minnesota United FC next Saturday, March 24, at 7 p.m. ET, with coverage on MSG2 and Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish.
