Without a doubt the success in the 2011 Emirates Cup will be one of the fondest memories of New York Red Bulls’ history, especially when taking into account what this tournament meant for Thierry Henry.
But before the Emirates Cup success, there were other significant trips that the club made abroad, which included visits to México, Argentina, Austria, Germany, Ecuador, Spain, Portugal and Italy.
The Emirates Cup took place in the middle of the MLS season, which differed to other Red Bulls’ experiences abroad that mainly served as preseason preparation.
