BY THE NUMBERS | A numerical guide to RBNY vs. Seattle Sounders

The New York Red Bulls (4-2-5) will travel west to face the Seattle Sounders (7-3-2) on Sunday afternoon in the Emerald City. Kickoff on ESPN2 is slated for 5:00 p.m. ET.  This will be the first and last regular season meeting between the two teams this season.  The Red Bulls will look to put behind the disappointing loss to Philadelphia last weekend, while Seattle is on a short week having just defeated Colorado Rapids 1-0 on Wednesday.

Here are some numbers to know ahead of Sunday’s matchup.

1: The Red Bulls have one win on the road this season. New York captured a 2-1 win at Columbus on March 28. New York is 1-1-3 overall.

3: The two teams have faced each other nine times in history, with the record being deadlocked at 3-3-3.

In the teams’ most recent meeting, Bradley Wright-Phillips scored a hat trick in the 4-1 win at Red Bull Arena.

6: Clint Dempsey has scored six goals in his career vs. the Red Bulls.  Five of them came from his days with the New England Revolution.

48: Sounders’ goalkeeper Stefan Frei leads MLS with 48 saves on the year.  Frei has recorded seven shutouts.

2,843: Distance (in miles) between Red Bull Arena and CenturyLink Field in Seattle. The Red Bulls flew out on Friday, and will practice Saturday in Seattle to acclimate ahead of Sunday’s match.
