HARRISON, N.J. (April 17, 2025) – The New York Red Bulls will face off against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Tuesday, May 6 at Weidner Field in the Round of 32 of the 2025 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Kickoff is set for 9:30 p.m. ET with coverage on Paramount+, CBS Sports Golazo Network, and New York Red Bulls Radio presented by Sports Illustrated in English via the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
This will be the first time that New York will face off against Colorado Springs. Colorado Springs currently rank ninth in the Western Conference in the USL Championship. The Switchbacks won the USL Championship Final last season defeating Rhode Island FC, 3-0.
This will be the 26th time that New York has participated in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The Red Bulls have posted a 27-22-3 mark in franchise history in U.S. Open Cup matches. New York have reached the semifinals of the U.S. Open Cup six times and the U.S. Open Cup final twice. Defender Dylan Nealis currently holds the most appearances in the Open Cup with the club by a current Red Bulls player with seven.
