New York Red Bulls Add NYRB II Midfielder Mohammed Sofo on Short-Term Loan Agreement Ahead of 2024 Season Opener

HARRISON, N.J. (February 25, 2024) – The New York Red Bulls have added NYRB II midfielder Mohammed Sofo on a short-term loan agreement ahead of New York’s 2024 season opener against Nashville SC, the club announced today.
 
Sofo, 19, made 12 appearances for NYRB II last year, which included four starts. He recorded two goals in MLS NEXT Pro last season, including his first goal for the club on August 13, 2023, against Columbus Crew 2. Sofo participated in five preseason matches with New York this preseason, where he scored two goals.
 
The midfielder will be available for the Red Bulls’ season opener later today against Nashville SC at 5 p.m. ET. The match will be held at GEODIS Park with coverage on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and New York Red Bulls Radio in English on NewYorkRedBulls.com and the New York Red Bulls app.
