New York Red Bulls midfielder Mike Grella underwent successful surgery on Wednesday morning.
Grella took to Instagram to share a photo of himself in his hospital bed and to wish the team good luck on their game on Wednesday night.
"Other than this dry turkey sandwich I'm good! Thanks to God. Good luck to the boys tonight," Grella wrote. "All the messages and support I have received from the boys, coaching staff, and fans has been so meaningful. Thank you 🙏 #rbny #thankyougod."
Grella was ruled out for the remainder of the season with a left knee injury.
Grella has made 73 regular season appearances for the club, recording 16 goals and 13 assists since signing after a successful trial in February of 2015.
