At the seventh time trying, the New York Red Bulls got the win at Red Bull Arena that they, and the fanbase, had been craving.

After a scoreless first half that featured no shots on goal from either team, New York blitzed D.C. United for four second-half goals in a 4-1 victory.

Luquinhas opened the scoring in the 54th minute, and would then follow it up with a Goal of the Week candidate on a sliding volley from outside the box in the 58th minute.

The two goals equaled Luquinhas' goal total from the season prior to tonight.

Lewis Morgan, then submitted his own submission for Goal of the Week five minutes later after he took a D.C. United corner clearance and fired a first-time volley into the top corner to make it 3-0.

It was Morgan's team-leading sixth goal of the season.

D.C United would get one back in the 87th minute, but that was cancelled out by an own goal caused by Caden Clark and Tom Barlow that restored the three-goal lead.

This is New York's first win against D.C. United at Red Bull Arena since 2018.

The Red Bulls will now enter the international break, and will then travel to Bank of America Stadium to take on Charlotte FC on June 11.
