The Red Bulls continued searching for the first goal of the night, but in the 58th minute, D.C. United almost scored via Ola Kamara. Sean Nealis made a great defensive effort that allowed him to make a huge save as Kamara attempted to score.

In the 65th minute, Mathias Jørgensen, Ben Mines and Amro Tarek came onto the field to replace Barlow, Omir Fernandez and Aaron Long.

Sean Davis came off in the 71st minute with a knock, giving his place to Cristian Cásseres Jr. The last substitution for New York was Florian Valot coming on for Danny Royer.

New York continued creating chances with Jørgensen getting a few looks close to the final minutes of the match. Duncan kept being an option on the right flank every time the team made a run to the final third.

In stoppage time, D.C. United’s Erik Sorga netted the only goal of the night to give the visitors the win.
