MATCH RECAP, pres. by Provident Bank: Red Bulls Score at the Death, Bring Point Home from Toronto

16x9

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting found the back of the net in the dying moments of the match to equalize for Red Bull New York, 1-1, against Toronto FC.

Off a corner kick as the final play of the game, the ball bounced around in the box until Choupo-Moting found it and put it into the back of the net.

Choupo-Moting's goal was the fifth-latest goal in club history.

"His experience, his quality, his ability to score goals is still at such a high level," said Red Bull New York Head Coach Michael Bradley. "And he gives us so much. He and Emil both as designated players, their presence, their leadership, the way they treat their teammates, they're so important and such good guys. And so we're all really, really happy for Choupo today, that he comes on and in a really, really important moment, shows his quality, because that’s a really good finish."

"All of us, we knew it's maybe our last action in the game," said Choupo-Moting. "And as you always say, Never give up, always believe. And I gave everything in this duel. The high ball, the ball came back. No time to lose. So I took the ball straight away. It was like a slow motion goal a little bit, but a nice one."

Winger Mohammed Sofo made his first start of the season after recovering from an ankle injury.

Defender Tim Parker made his first appearance of the season subbing into the match in the second minute of stoppage time.

Goalkeeper Ethan Horvath made four saves on the day, which is tied with his four saves against Orlando City on February 21 for most saves in a single match for him this season.

With the draw, New York has moved their unbeaten streak against Toronto to 14 matches.

The draw also moves the Red Bulls road unbeaten streak against Toronto to seven consecutive matches. The side’s road record against the home side improved to 6-7-10.

New York will head to Bank of America Stadium to battle Charlotte FC on Saturday, March 21.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage on Apple TV in English and Spanish, and Red Bulls Radio in English via the Red Bull New York app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
