MatchRecap_16x9

In a match that saw the Red Bulls own the shots advantage 18-5, a Georgios Koutsias goal in the second half was enough to secure all three points for the Chicago Fire against the New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena.

John Tolkin appeared to put the Red Bulls ahead early in the first half, but a decision by the referee nullified the goal.

Chicago goalkeeper Chris Brady kept New York at bay in a first half dominated by the Red Bulls.

The match turned on two Hassan Ndam yellow cards in the second half. The second of which lead to a free kick goal that would put Chicago in front.

Down a man, the Red Bulls could not find an equalizer.

The Red Bulls will now face a short turnaround and will travel to FC Cincinnati, who secured the Supporters Shield.
