The New York Red Bulls fell to the New England Revolution, 1-0, on Saturday night at Gillette Stadium.

Emmanuel Boateng scored, off the bench, in the 81st minute for the game-winner.

"The balls were not good enough in our transition moments, and especially then in our ball position in the final set to find the good moments," Head Coach Sandro Schwarz said. "We need more open positions from our striker from our 10 positions so that we can create more situations. It was a tough game today, a tough result. We are for sure not satisfied about the result and especially then about our performance in the training set."

New York had 14 shots, with four on frame.

Ryan Meara made three saves on the night.

"If you can't score in the game, and if you can't win the game, then it's okay with one point but we are going home without points. I'm very disappointed," Schwarz said.

Sean Nealis played 90 minutes in the match, which tied Steve Jolley for fifth place in franchise history for the most MLS minutes played by a defender (10,235). Nealis made his 113th career MLS start, which moved him into a tie with Kemar Lawrence for sixth place in franchise history for most MLS starts by a defender.

Omar Valencia and Mohammed Sofo both made their MLS debuts against New England.

New York return to Red Bull Arena to battle Nashville SC on Saturday, June 15. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in English and Spanish and New York Red Bulls Radio, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
