Red Bull New York fell to Nashville SC, 1-0, on Wednesday night at Sports Illustrated Stadium.
Nashville found the lone goal in the match in the second minute of second half stoppage time. Cristian Espinoza whipped in a free kick far post to Maxwell Woledzi, who headed the ball into the bottom left corner of the net.
"Generally speaking, we dealt with a lot of it well, but when we needed to really, really dig in, really concentrate, really compete and really be ready to deal with one more at the end of the game we let ourselves down," Head Coach Michael Bradley said.
"I said to the team after that that's a big part of us taking the real big step forward as a team. The way that we play, the ideas, the way that we step on the field most weekends, the ways that we can push games, the ways that we create chances," he said. "Those things are all going in a good direction. Obviously, we got to be able to score our chances. We have to be able to reward ourselves. We got to be able to make sure that we have more to show for all of our of our of our good football. The part that goes with it is we've got to be able to deal with some of the messy moments in it in the game a little bit better."
The Red Bulls remain at Sports Illustrated for their second match of a three-match homestand, when they play Chicago Fire FC on Saturday, August 22 for Fireworks Night presented by Audi.
