MATCH RECAP, pres. by Provident Bank: Red Bulls Create Chances, Fall at Home

The New York Red Bulls dropped their home opener, 1-0, to Minnesota United FC on Sunday night.

The Red Bulls had many chances, but Dayne St. Clair put on a show to keep the ball out of the back of the net, making eight saves on the night.

Patryk Klimala had a penalty saved by St. Clair early in the first half following video review for a handball.

Minnesota opened the scoring in the 51st minute, when midfielder Hassani Dotson chipped a ball to the far post and forward Luis Amarilla volleyed the ball in the bottom left of the net.

The Red Bulls home shutout streak extending from last season on September 29, 2021, was snapped at 484 minutes.

New York will finish their two-match homestand on Sunday, March 20, hosting Columbus Crew SC. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET on MSG, MSG GO, and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
