The New York Red Bulls took the lead in the first half through a Daniel Edelman goal and never looked back, defeating Atlanta United FC 4-0 at Red Bull Arena.

Edelman's first goal of the season was followed up by Cristian Cásseres Jr.'s first in the 45th minute, giving the Red Bulls a 2-0 lead headed into the half. It was Cásseres' 100th career MLS start.

The Red Bulls moved to 5-0-2 against Atlanta United across all competitions at Red Bull Arena.

New York would not let Atlanta back into the match, and would continue to pile on through Frankie Amaya, who scored a brace after coming in as a sub in the 77th minute.

The goal by Edelman was his first of the season and the second of his career. Both goals were scored at Red Bull Arena. Cásseres Jr.’s goal was his first of the season and the 14th of his MLS career. Amaya’s goals were his first and second of the season, upping his MLS career total to five.

With the clean sheet, Coronel moved into sole possession of second place in franchise history in shutouts passing Tony Meola. Coronel moved into sole possession of third place in franchise history in games played in goal with 86, passing Tim Howard.
