The New York Red Bulls fell to Inter Miami CF on Saturday night in Florida.

Miami had goals from Fafa Picault, Marcelo Weigandt, Luis SuĂ¡rez and Lionel Messi en route to a 4-1 victory. Mohammed Sofo scored for New York, his second MLS goal.

In the 43rd minute, Omar Valencia whipped in a cross to the far post, where Sofo headed the ball over Miami’s goalkeeper -- and into the back of the net.

Sofo scored his second MLS goal of the season and his first since March 1 against Nashville SC.

Valencia tallied his fourth MLS assist of the season, which leads the club and ranks tied for first among active MLS defenders this season. Valencia has tallied an assist in back-to-back matches.

Peter Stroud made his 50th career MLS appearance in tonight’s match.

Sean Nealis made his 167th career appearance across all competitions for New York, which moves him into sole possession of third place in franchise history for most appearances made by a defender passing Carlos Mendes.

New York will head to Weidner Field to take on Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in the Round of 32 in the 2025 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
