Down a man on the road against the Eastern Conference-leading Philadelphia Union, the New York Red Bulls battled back for a 1-1 draw at Subaru Park on Saturday evening.
After a Dylan Nealis red card early in the second half forced New York to play with ten men, the Red Bulls, with the help of Luquinhas' second MLS goal, battled back to secure a point away at Philadelphia.
Philadelphia struck first at the beginning of the second half through Daniel Gazdag in the 47th minute, but Luquinhas leveled the score in the 66th minute.
Cameron Harper registered his first MLS assist on Luquinhas' equalizer.
What looked like a late go-ahead goal for Philadelphia was ruled out by VAR after it was determined that goal-scorer Julian Carranza was in an offside position when the ball was last touched.
New York are unbeaten in their last seven matches across all competitions, outscoring their opponents, 12-4, in those matches.
