Tim Cahill scored his second goal of the 2014 World Cup against the Netherlands on Wednesday as Australia fell 3-2 in its second game of group play.

The goal from Cahill, Australia’s all-time leading scorer, was his 34th as a member of the Australian Men’s National Team.

After Arjen Robben put the Netherlands ahead with a goal in the 20th minute, Cahill answered just over a minute later to pull the Socceroos level. The forward got on the end of a Ryan McGowan cross and rocketed a left-footed volley off the cross bar and into the net.

The Socceroos then took their first lead of the tournament in the 54th minute when Mile Jedinak converted a penalty kick to give Australia a 2-1 lead.

The Netherlands answered back with two unanswered goals from Robin van Persie and Memphis Depay to put the Dutch back on top 3-2.

Australia is now 0-2-0 through two games of group play. They finish out group play against Spain on Monday, June 23.
