MATCH PREVIEW, pres. by Toyota: New York Return to MLS Action with a Sunday Night Matchup Against Real Salt Lake

The New York Red Bulls return to MLS regular season action with a Sunday, August 10 matchup against Real Salt Lake at Sports Illustrated Stadium.

Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. ET with coverage on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in English and Spanish, and New York Red Bulls Radio presented by Sports Illustrated in English via the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.

Coverage on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV begins at 6 p.m. ET. Neil Sika will have primary play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Lloyd Sam on the English side, while Carlos Ramirez will have the play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Max Cordaro on the Spanish side.

New York Red Bulls Radio presented by Sports Illustrated begins at 5:30 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Toyota, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley.

This will be the 25th overall regular season meeting between the Red Bulls and Real Salt Lake, with RSL holding the series advantage with a 8-6-10 mark. New York have posted a 6-1-4 mark against RSL at home, including being unbeaten in their last four home matches against RSL.

This will be Salt Lake’s first trip to Sports Illustrated Stadium since 2019, where the Red Bulls won, 4-0. New York have posted an 8-2-2 mark at home this season in league play and will be seeking their ninth MLS home win of the season, which would be the most since 2019.

Goalkeeper A.J. Marcucci made his fifth career appearance across all competitions for New York in their 1-1 draw against FC Juarez on Thursday, August 7. Marcucci has posted a 3-0-2 mark in those five matches, including recording his first career shutout in a 1-0 win over Chivas Guadalajara on July 31.

The West Chester, P.A. native has also posted a 2-0 mark in penalty kick shootouts with the Red Bulls. Marcucci will be seeking his second career MLS appearance after leading New York to a 2-1 win over Toronto FC back in March at Sports Illustrated Stadium in his MLS debut.
