The Red Bulls opened their 2025 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup campaign with a 4-1 win over Switchbacks FC on May 6. Red Bulls defender Sean Nealis scored his first career Open Cup goal in the match and the fifth of his career across all competitions. Nealis recorded his first career MLS goal against FC Dallas back in 2019. The Massapequa, N.Y. native now ranks in third place in franchise history in most appearances across all competitions for a defender with 171.
