INSIDE THE 18: Red Bulls Ready to Take on Philadelphia in Open Cup Quarterfinal

The New York Red Bulls are down in Pennsylvania to take on the Philadelphia Union in the U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinal on Wednesday night.

Head Coach Sandro Schwarz will deploy Emil Forsberg and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in the attack for New York.

Forsberg scored his first career U.S. Open Cup goal in New York’s Round of 16 match against FC Dallas. Forsberg has scored a goal in back-to-back matches, after scoring in New York’s 1-1 draw against the San Jose Earthquakes on July 5.

Wiki Carmona and Mohammed Sofo get the nod at the starting whistle.

Sofo has scored three goals in the U.S. Open Cup this season and he has recorded a goal in all four U.S. Open Cup matches he has played in his career.

Sofo has recorded six goal contributions in four career U.S. Open Cup matches. His eight goals across all competitions, currently ranks tied for second for the club this season.

A.J. Marcucci starts in goal for the Red Bulls.

New York have posted a 3-1-0 mark in their last four Open Cup road matches.

Daniel Edelman and Peter Stroud pair up in the central midfield.

Sean Nealis, Alexander Hack, Noah Eile and Raheem Edwards start along the backline.

The Red Bulls have earned three results in their last four away trips to Subaru Park.

Schwarz will have Wiktor Bogacz, Ronald Donkor, Julian Hall, Dylan Nealis, Serge Ngoma and Tim Parker available off the bench. Carlos Coronel will be the backup goalkeeper.
