INSIDE THE 18: Red Bulls Deploy Retooled Lineup Against Chicago Fire

Inside 18 vs. CHI 16x9

The New York Red Bulls will throw some new wrinkles at the Chicago Fire at Sports Illustrated Stadium on Saturday evening.

Head Coach Sandro Schwarz will input Tim Parker, Serge Ngoma, Felipe Carballo and Mohammed Sofo into the lineup.

Parker makes his first MLS start of the season since rejoining RBNY. It will be Parker’s first start with the Red Bulls since November of 2020.

Ngoma and Carballo both make their first MLS starts of the season, as well. Sofo returns to the Starting XI after scoring his first MLS goal in his first MLS start on March 1 against Nashville SC.

Omar Valencia also returns to the starting squad for New York, making his fourth start of the season. Dylan Nealis and Noah Eile round out the defensive structure.

This will be the 70th overall regular season meeting between New York and Chicago, with the Fire holding the series advantage with a 32-21-16 mark.

Carlos Coronel starts in goal.

Emil Forsberg and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting push the attack, while Daniel Edelman pairs with Carballo in the central midfield.
