The New York Red Bulls host Philadelphia Union on Wednesday night at Red Bull Arena, kicking off at 7:30 p.m. on MSG Networks and New York Red Bulls Radio.
Andrés Reyes returns to the Starting XI for New York, paired with Andrew Gutman and Sean Nealis.Â
Philadelphia is currently on a two-match winning streak, which includes wins over Orlando City SC (3-1) and Atlanta United (1-0). The Union have not won a match on the road since May 23, 2021.
John Tolkin and Kyle Duncan will push forward, while Sean Davis and Dru Yearwood anchor the central midfield.
Omir Fernandez and Cristian Cásseres Jr. lead the attack, with Patryk Klimala starting up top for RBNY.
Fernandez has made four starts in a row, with his first of the season coming on September 14 against Columbus Crew. Since that match, Fernandez has created nine chances, which ranks fourth in MLS during that span. In his last three matches, he has scored two goals, which includes the game-winning goal against NYCFC on September 25.
Carlos Coronel starts in goal for Red Bulls.
The Red Bulls have only allowed nine goals in their last 10 matches and have posted four clean sheets during that time. Coronel earned his eighth shutout of the season in New York’s last match and currently ranks fourth in MLS. Coronel moved into sole possession of seventh place in franchise history in clean sheets and is only one more clean sheet away from tying Jonny Walker for sixth place.
New York will have Ryan Meara serve as backup goalkeeper, while Frankie Amaya, Tom Barlow, Wiki Carmona, Caden Clark, Youba Diarra, Tom Edwards, Cameron Harper and Danny Royer are available off the bench.
