Omir Fernandez is in the Starting XI as the New York Red Bulls take on Columbus Crew on Tuesday night from Lower.com Field.
Fernandez is joined in the XI by Cristian Cásseres, Dru Yearwood and Sean Davis. Patryk Klimala starts up top for New York.
Yearwood scored his first career MLS goal on Saturday against D.C. United. This was New York’s quickest goal scored this season in the 5th minute of action. The Red Bulls have now recorded six goals from outside the box this season, which ranks tied for fourth in MLS. Five of the six goals have been scored at Red Bull Arena.
John Tolkin, Andrew Gutman, Sean Nealis, Tom Edwards and Kyle Duncan start along the backline for the Red Bulls. Carlos Coronel starts in goal.
Tolkin scored his first career MLS goal and the game-winning goal in the last matchup between the two teams on August 18.
Coronel recorded his sixth shutout of the season and his fifth at Red Bull Arena. Since August 18, the Crew have lost three of four matches, which includes a win over F.C. Cincinnati (3-2) on August 27.
Head Coach Gerhard Struber has Frankie Amaya, Tom Barlow, Caden Clark, Youba Diarra, Fábio, Andrés Reyes, Omar Sowe and Amro Tarek available off the bench. AJ Marcucci will serve as backup goalkeeper.
