After a goal and a standout performance on Saturday against CF Montréal that helped the Red Bulls to a 2-1 victory, defender Andrés Reyes was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday.
The goal was Reyes' second of the season, with the first being the equalizer in a 1-1 draw against Minnesota in March.
The goal that opened the scoring against Montréal was his fourth for the Red Bulls in his career.
Reyes has been a stalwart for the New York defense so far this season. He leads the league in interceptions, and among MLS defenders, he is tied for third in goals scored and is third in total duels won.
He becomes the first Red Bulls player to be featured twice in the Team of the Matchday so far in 2023.
