The New York Red Bulls selected Lamine Conte with the 40th pick in the MLS SuperDraft, presented by adidas.
In 2020, the defensive midfielder/center-back started all eight matches during the Fall season. Conte made 31 appearances for the Cardinals. Lamine is currently the USL League 2 Defender of the Year, which he achieved with Reading United AC.
The Conakary, Guinea native made the 2018 ACC Championship All-Tournament Team. He looks up to Chelsea’s N'Golo Kanté, FC Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti, and Manchester United’s Eric Bailly.
