Red Bulls Academy Product, Kyle Zajec, signed his first professional contract with NYRB II on March 7 and has been contributing ever since.
The Georgetown alumni made his NYRB II debut off the bench against Memphis 901 FC on March 30. Zajec would earn his first start with the team in the 4-0 win against Hartford Athletic at MSU Soccer Park on April 18.
The 22-year-old scored his first professional goal when Bethlehem Steel visited MSU Soccer Park on May 31, firing from outside the 18-yard box and into the back of the net. Zajec would go on to earn a brace the same game, leading NYRB II to a convincing 4-0 win. He finished tied for fifth on the team in scoring.
The Westport, Connecticut native kept the highest pass accuracy for an outfield player on the team (80.8%). Zajec shined going forward in 2019, keeping a team high pass accuracy in an opponent’s half (76.6%).
