HARRISON, N.J. (September 29, 2026) – Red Bull New York II have signed Red Bulls Academy winger Sean Baitinger to a one-and-a-half-year MLS NEXT Pro contract through the 2027-28 season, which goes into effect on January 1, 2027, the club announced today.
“Sean’s journey to earning his first professional contract with us is an inspiring one and we are happy to provide him with the platform to follow his goal of a professional soccer career,” said Technical Director Tiger Fitzpatrick. “He’s made wonderful strides since joining the RB II squad this year and continues to progress daily, which is a testament to his positive attitude and growth mindset.”
The 18-year-old made his MLS NEXT Pro debut on May 17, subbing on in the 80th minute against New York City FC II at MSU Soccer Park.
Baitinger scored his first career MLS NEXT Pro goal in a 5-0 victory against Toronto FC II on June 21 at MSU Soccer Park. In the same match, he became the youngest in club history to record two assists in a match at 17 years and 284 days old.
In a 2-1 victory against Columbus Crew 2 on August 8 at Historic Crew Stadium, he became the fourth youngest in club history to record a brace at 17 years and 331 days old.
Overall, the winger has recorded five goals and six assists across 18 matches, logging 1,220 minutes. His 11 goal contributions are the fifth highest at the club this season.
Baitinger joined the Red Bulls Academy in 2025. Prior to joining the club, the 18-year-old was a part of Sacramento Republic FC.
“Sean is another player who has made great strides over the past few months,” said Head Coach Dominik Wohlert. “He can play multiple positions and brings a very interesting skillset to the table. We’re excited that he’s continuing on this path us.”
