HARRISON, N.J. (June 13, 2025) – New York Red Bulls II (8-2-2, 27 pts) to host Chattanooga FC (8-2-3, 29 pts) at MSU Soccer Park on Sunday, June 15. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. Jake Griffith will be on the call.
Red Bulls II are on a four-game win streak and off to their best start through 12 matches in club history. They sit second in the Eastern Conference and are coming off a decisive 5-3 victory over Crown Legacy FC. Defender Marcelo Morales opened the match with his first career MLS NEXT Pro goal. Midfielder Ibrahim Kasule scored his first career MLS NEXT Pro hattrick, and tallied his 25th, 26th and 27th career goals. He became the club’s All-Time Leading Goal Scorer. Midfielder Nehuen Benedetti also found the back of the net for his third goal of the season.
Chattanooga is first in the Eastern Conference and are coming off a 3-3 draw and 5:4 shootout win over Inter Miami CF II. Chattanooga went down 3-1 had halftime but rallied for two goals from midfielder Daniel Mangarov and defender Jalen James in the 54th and 80th minutes. They would go a perfect five for five from the penalty spot to earn two points.
This will be the first matchup between the two clubs at MSU Soccer Park. The two sides first faced each other during 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Decision Day on October 6 at Finley Stadium. Chattanooga opened the scoring in the sixth minute when midfielder Callum Watson made a run onto the six-yard box and tapped in a cross from Taylor Gray. New York equalized in the 68th minute when forward Tanner Rosborough dropped a pass to the top of the box to midfielder Malick Dembele who tucked a shot into the bottom left corner. The match stayed level after 90 minutes and went to a nine-round penalty kick shootout that saw Chattanooga take a 7:6 advantage to gain two points.
This will be Head Coach Ibrahim Sekagya’s final match in charge of Red Bulls II. He has been promoted to a first team assistant coach.
Following Sunday’s match, New York will travel to Truist Point Stadium to take on Carolina Core FC on Saturday, June 21. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage available on MLS Season on Apple TV
