HARRISON, N.J. (May 2, 2025) – New York Red Bulls II (4-1-1, 13 pts) to host Carolina Core FC (1-3-3, 8 pts) at MSU Soccer Park on May 4. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on Apple TV – MLS Season Pass.

New York sits in second place in the Eastern Conference. They last played on April 27 defeating Orlando City B 4-2 at Osceola Heritage Park. Red Bulls II opened the scoring in the 19th minute when midfielder Ibrahim Kasule slipped a ball through to forward Tanner Rosborough. Rosborough took two touches toward the endline and struck a shot into the back of the net. They added to their lead in the 23rd minute when midfielder Aiden Jarvis struck a 30-yard shot into the bottom right corner. Orlando answered back in the 39th minute via a free kick. New York responded in the 44th minute when midfielder Nehuen Benedetti dribbled 40 yards and drilled a shot into the bottom right corner. Orlando found a second goal in the 61st minute, but Kasule sealed the game with a stoppage time penalty kick goal.

Carolina is in ninth place in the Eastern Conference, coming off a 2-1 loss to Crown Legacy FC on April 26. Crown Legacy FC opened the scoring in the 75th minute when midfielder Jack Sarkos headed home a set piece into the back of the net. Carolina evened the match in the 83rd minute when midfielder Facundo Canete smashed a shot from the top of the box into the back of the net. Crown Legacy scored a late stoppage time game winning goal in the 94th minute courtesy of an Andrej Subotic header.

This will be the second all-time MLS NEXT Pro matchup between the two clubs. The two sides last faced each other on September 1, 2024, at Truist Point Stadium. New York kicked things off in the 9th minute when forward Julian Hall tapped in a deflection off the Carolina keeper. Red Bulls II added to their lead in the 28th minute when defender Curtis Ofori smashed a shot from outside the box into the bottom left corner. Carolina went on to score four unanswered goals in the 2nd half to hand New York a 4-2 loss.

Kasule is hitting form, tallying five goal contributions in the past three matches. He scored his 24th career league goal against Orlando, tying him with Brandon Allen for all all-time leading league goal scorer in club history.

New York is on a strong stretch, with three wins in their last four matches. In each win during this span, Red Bulls II has scored three or more goals.

Following Sunday’s match, New York will travel to Belson Stadium on May 9 to face Hudson River Derby rivals NYCFC II. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET with coverage on Apple TV – MLS Season Pass.
